Abandoned Buildings.

My art school in Sydney used to be a mental hospital. There are lots of buildings around it that were once part of the hospital but now have been left empty just waiting to be explored, as we were doing on this day! And although you cannot go in any of these buildings, we certainly have a good peer through all the windows.

And of course, no wander through a park is complete without playing with many dogs....

Trouser Outfit.

It is a rare occasion these days when I wear a pair of trousers and I must say I rather enjoy it! The problem is that I always have a very specific idea in my head of the kind of trousers I would like, however in reality they do not seem to exist. This is when I think I will make my own and start excitedly looking up patterns and fabric....that is as far as I have got still!

This little stork was a gift from my dad that he was given when he stayed in The Storken hotel in Zurich. He spent the day being carried around and having his photo taken...lucky chap!!

May Daze.

Where has this month gone? I was happily thinking it was still the beginning of the month until I looked at my calendar and realised I only have two weeks of uni left for this semester...and essays that need to be done by that point!

Now that the weather has turned here in Sydney, I have been stocking up on a few new winter dresses and cardigans. To be honest, when am I not stocking up on new dresses, but at least now I have some sort of way to justify it to myself...maybe. I am sure a lot of you out there will understand!!

tickled pink.

Well I think this was probably the last day I could get away with just a simple 50s sundress until next season. Autumn has finally arrived in Sydney this week which means I will soon be able to dig out the fun coloured stockings...this makes the arrival of cold weather just about bearable!

My yummy strawberry smoothie matched my dress perfectly...

Blue Gingham.

Just a little frolicking around a wharf on a beautifully warm day during some down time from the 13 Rooms exhibition.

I am obsessed with gingham so it goes without saying that this little number from the shop of Miss Fancy Fine is perfection...

13 rooms.

I thought I would tell you a little bit about a project I have been involved with in the last couple of weeks. It is a project by John Kaldor and is an exhibition of performance art from leading international artists. I am lucky enough to be one of the performers in a work by John Baldessari, which involves painting a room a new colour every day using only a brush. Other artist's involved in the show include Damien Hirst, Marina Abramovic, Tino Sehgal and many other incredibly talented people!

The experience has been fantastic and although it is pretty tiring and uncomfortable painting the walls, floor and ceiling everyday, I have been having a wonderful time. It is really a very exciting exhibition and I would recommend anyone who is in Sydney to pop round to pier 2/3 in Walsh Bay before it closes on Sunday!

Rehearsal day 1..

The magical work of Xu Zhen..

The old industrial pier makes an unusual and marvellous setting for such works.

It is amazing how much the atmosphere of the room changes from day to day with the new colour.
