That 60s vibe.

It took a few attempts to get photographs for this week. Let's just say Sydney weather was being difficult last week so succeeding in shooting my outfits was not going to happen. But today, just when I thought we were entering jacket and cardigan season, the sun came out and I was able to frolic around without one. I only have two weeks left in this neighbourhood, so I am enjoying taking in the idyllic surrounds and beautiful houses while I can.

I have always loved shift dresses and I have a few actual 60s and 70s ones, but the movement in this Urban Outfitters dress is just gorgeous. The slit in the back is beautiful and adds interest but is balanced out by the high neck and long sleeves. I always prefer to have a bit of my back out than the boobs, seems more subtle!

Trouser Outfit.

It is a rare occasion these days when I wear a pair of trousers and I must say I rather enjoy it! The problem is that I always have a very specific idea in my head of the kind of trousers I would like, however in reality they do not seem to exist. This is when I think I will make my own and start excitedly looking up patterns and fabric....that is as far as I have got still!

This little stork was a gift from my dad that he was given when he stayed in The Storken hotel in Zurich. He spent the day being carried around and having his photo taken...lucky chap!!

May Daze.

Where has this month gone? I was happily thinking it was still the beginning of the month until I looked at my calendar and realised I only have two weeks of uni left for this semester...and essays that need to be done by that point!

Now that the weather has turned here in Sydney, I have been stocking up on a few new winter dresses and cardigans. To be honest, when am I not stocking up on new dresses, but at least now I have some sort of way to justify it to myself...maybe. I am sure a lot of you out there will understand!!

Blue Gingham.

Just a little frolicking around a wharf on a beautifully warm day during some down time from the 13 Rooms exhibition.

I am obsessed with gingham so it goes without saying that this little number from the shop of Miss Fancy Fine is perfection...

Alley Treasure's

One thing I have learnt as an art student is that some of the most interesting, innovative work can be found in the most tiny and unlikely of spaces. This day was spent trotting round just some of these places. This particular gallery is in an old garage tucked away in a hidden alley and featured an exhibition of a teacher of mine, Oliver Watts.

Although this was an unbearably humid day, I now find myself longing for the heat. Here in Sydney we have been greeted by torrential rain which makes it difficult to go out unless you fancy being drenched head to toe. Well for me, that means being curled up on my rocking chair, drinking tea and catching up on some wonderful blogs. Sadly for my bank account, it has also meant a few new treasures from Etsy will be arriving on my doorstep in a couple of weeks..

This Bag. Incredible. Enough Said.

Oh, look at me I'm dancing.

If you know what musical that is from..bravo. If not, you should look up Salad Days now! I have recently been to see it in London at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith and it was wonderful. I may cheekily be going to see it again tomorrow...shhh! I thoroughly recommend it to any other musical lovers like me out there!

These photos were taken after a lazy lunch with my lovely lady, Sophie, at one of our favourite places. There was not supposed to be so much alliteration in that sentence I promise!

I am now going to spend the afternoon with my mother who is at any moment now going to return home from a holiday in Sydney. I am going back to Sydney next week so every minute is precious! I wish you all a very happy monday...
